What We Believe
1. We believe that everything in the universe (including you) was created by God for his Son, Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:16-18).
Colossians 1:16b—“All things have been created through Him and for Him”
2. We believe that He is the Giver of every good thing and the source of all joy
(Psalm 16:11; James 1:17).
Psalm 16:11—“In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever”
3. However, we also believe that all of us have failed to worship God and have sought pleasure and joy in many other things—including things that God forbids. The Bible calls this failure to love God “sin” (Isaiah 53:6 & 59:2; Romans 3:10-23).
Romans 3:23 -”For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God “
4. We believe that our rebellion against such a good and magnificent God makes us guilty and worthy of His judgment (Romans 1:18-32) and hell (Matthew 25:46; Hebrews 9:27, Romans 6:23 & 14:10).
Hebrews 9:27 And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment
5. We believe that God, who had every right to judge us and condemn us, graciously became a man in the person of Jesus Christ, lived a perfect life, died the death that we deserved in our place, and rose victoriously over death in order to destroy the power of sin, guilt, and death (John 1:1-14; 3:16).
John 3:16—“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
We believe that everyone who turns from their sin and trusts in Jesus Christ as their Savior from their sin, guilt, and death is born again to love and serve King Jesus—now and for all eternity (Mark 1:14-15; John 3:36; Ephesians 2:1-10)
John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
Getting to Know Us:
We strive to be a Christ-centered fellowship. Christ Himself is the very life of our church. Everything in our body of believers revolves around Him. This church is His church—Christ is recognized as Lord here. He is the Alpha and Omega of our lives. He is our Savior, our Redeemer, our everything! We are a group of people who have believed upon Christ, love Christ, follow Christ, obey Christ, and serve Christ. This describes who we are—we are all about Christ!
Fellowship means “a sharing in common” and describes our common life together in Christ. As a church family, we hold in common our Lord Jesus Christ. His spiritual life pulsates through our body. His truth and love knits our hearts together. Despite our many differences of family background, education, business, and social standing, we are one in Christ.
Baptist defines our theological and historical distinctives. Our church has deep roots as Baptist since being established in 1850. We are Baptists by conviction, a people who stand in a great line of people who have gone before us. As with our forefathers, we believe in the full inspiration and authority of Scripture, salvation by grace alone, the baptism of believers only by immersion, the priesthood of believers, the eternal security of the redeemed, and more. These God-exalting truths mark our identity. We are voluntarily affiliated and cooperate with the Southern Baptist Convention and adhere to the Baptist Faith & Message (2000).
Church also describes who we are. This word—church—means ,“the called out ones.” We are those who have been called out of darkness by the power of God into the light of His kingdom. We have been drawn by the Spirit into fellowship with Christ.
We are a congregation who have been redeemed by Christ, who support one another in loving fellowship, who hold to the authority of scripture and who are called out of the world to be the church of God. Is this the kind of church of which you want to be a part of ? Come join us!
